Shelley Long
Born: 23 August 1949
Where: Fort Wayne, Indiana
A former TV host and producer, Shelley dropped out of college to pursue a career in acting and good job she did really as a string of Emmy's and Golden Globe's have littered her acting path from the on-set.
Shelley first hit the big screen starring alongside Henry 'The Fonz' Winkler and Michael Keaton playing a cheerful hooker in Ron Howard's Nightshift.
Her performance as the archetypal 'tart with a heart' led bizarrely on to her five year role as supercilious barmaid Diane in Cheers alongside Ted Danson et al in the well loved TV hit.
Since then she has starred in a string of movies including The Money Pit with a fresh faced Tom Hanks plus a fortuitous teaming with Bette Middler in Outrageous Fortune.
And as if that weren't enough the gleaming smile that graced many a screen in the eighties made a massive comeback in 1995 as the picture perfect 70's 'mom', Carol Brady of The Brady Bunch Movie, and subsequent A Very Brady Sequel in 1996.
