James Belushi

One half of the famous Belushi siblings, James took longer to come into his own, having to follow in the footsteps of his late brother John.

Having originally got into acting at high school "because of the girls", James started off his career with Chicago's famous 2nd City improvisation group... a move that also worked for his brother.

From 2nd City he moved into TV work, co-starring with Michael Keaton in Working Stiffs (1979), following this he joined the cast of satirical review show Saturday Night Live for 2 years.

James came to national attention through two films in 1986, About Last Night and also Salvador - he played a foul-mouthed lout in both productions - which has since become a Belushi trademark.

Another big break came when he played a bad cop in 1988's Red Heat with Arnold Schwarzenegger. He was equally popular in K-9 the following year.

Although his subsequent films have not been as successful, Belushi has continued to grow as a dramatic actor having made two more K-9 films, as the cop Dooley and he has also continued to appear on the smaller screen as well.
