David is best known for his role as Dr. Jack 'Boomer' Morrison on the TV drama St. Elsewhere from the early to the late 80s.
David's TV career started in 1981 with a small role in the television movie Our Family Business, but it was his role as a doctor in the popular series St Elsewhere which brought him fame.
He also directed two episodes in the 1987-88 season.
David made an impressive feature debut as a basketball player who forgets his friends when he gets a shot at the big time in Inside Moves in 1980.
However, most of his roles were generally supporting ones.
In 2000, he acted in the award-winning Dancer in the Dark, and also played Meg Ryan's kidnapped spouse in Proof of Life.
Morse has an affection for Stephen King-based movies, having starred in The Langoliers (1995), The Green Mile (1999) and Hearts In Atlantis (2001).
His villainous cop opposite Bruce Willis in the thriller 16 Blocks earned critical praise, as did his role as the father of an errant teen in suburban drama Down In The Valley.
