Hilarious, fast-moving farce, set in a Seventies gay baths, with tubby Jack Weston as a fugitive, fleeing his murderous brother-in-law (Jerry Stiller), and forced to take refuge in the garish club of the title. The fun starts when the baddies enter the premises and Weston ends up in drag. Rita Moreno, another survivor from the original stage show by Terrence McNally, is hysterically funny as the tuneless cabaret turn Googie Gomez, whom everyone thinks is a drag queen, and so is Treat Williams as the beefcake hunk of a private eye everybody's after, who has a squeaky voice like Mickey Mouse. And it's all in the best possible taste! Oddly, this most American of movie subjects was made in Britain, hence the presence of Peter Butterworth and Dave King as Americans.
