This invites us to imagine a looking-glass world in which America's dominant culture is black and whites are the downtrodden underclass. It's a striking idea to explore racism but debut director Desmond Nakano has failed to come up with a story to do it justice. Factory worker John Travolta unwittingly offends wealthy businessman Harry Belafonte and loses his job, home and family. In desperation he kidnaps Belafonte but only succeeds in rushing towards disaster. Travolta and Belafonte bring weighty authority to their roles but the thin script prevents the film from packing a big punch.
