Broken Arrow

A renegade US pilot steals two nuclear warheads, but his former co-pilot resolves to thwart his nefarious scheme. Action director John Woo takes the term explosive to new heights, with non-stop bang-banging in every conceivable location. Neither Travolta or Slater are challenged by their roles in this thriller but they play the game to perfection.

Jennifer Aniston was considered for the park ranger role played by Samantha Mathis.

Hang your minds in the hall and enjoy the non-stop action in this ballistic thriller about a rogue USAF officer (John Travolta) who steals two nuclear missiles and holds the nation to ransom.

However, he fails to dispatch his co-pilot (Christian Slater) as planned: Slater manages to eject into the desert - and thereby hangs the rest of the tale.

We seem to remember Steven Seagal scotched one of these hare-brained schemes a couple of years earlier, and here Slater proves almost as troublesome to the bad guys, especially when he teams up with park ranger Samantha Mathis (with an inexhaustible supply of bullets and lipstick).

The action just keeps on coming here, from truck fights, train fights and mid-air fights to hair-raising flights through a copper mine.

That's a good thing, as the action is the only thing John Woo is directing well. Travolta does what he can with a part that offers him nothing.

Slater is unmemorable.

The rest of the acting is all as unimpressive as the action is explosive.

I really enjoyed this movie, I think our lovable Mr Travolta makes an excellent bad guy, he should do more roles like this. Christian, I thought was a bit small for the role, not really a action type figure. Nonetheless he done a good job... good film... would definately watch it again.

Good movie to watch if you want non-stop action by the bucket-load. A typical John Woo movie awaits for those who dare watch; action, John Travolta and the typical storyline of good versus evil. Good action sequences and unfortunately not great acting but hey, it's an action movie, who cares? Well worth the watch, but be warned... It's no Face/Off

Good film... Christian Slater is brilliant! It's a good action film and the sort of thing to watch if you don't want to try and work out complicated plots etc. John Travolta is also good and it's nice to see Slater and Samantha Mathis playing along side each other after so many years. Well worth the watch!
