This surprisingly dark-toned, rather cynical and adult sequel to the 1995 smash-hit Babe is still delightful, as the big-hearted little pig Babe, in a bid to save his farm from bankruptcy, leaves home for the city, where he gets involved with a gang of apes. The seamless mix of real animals and animatronics is even cleverer and smoother than in the original, though with Magda Szubanski's lusty Mrs Hoggett in the spotlight, there's unfortunately too little of James Cromwell's splendid Farmer Hoggett.
