Yes, we're in gangsterland again, this time following the fate of Sammy 'The Bull' Gravano (played by Nicholas Turturro), the man whose claim to fame is that he shopped his fellow mobster John Gotti to the authorities. Although the story is based on real events, the movie is disappointing, as it's no more than a standard gangster tale that has a highly derivative look. We follow the quick rise to power of Gravano as he and the flamboyant Gotti (Tom Sizemore) work their way into the Gambini clan, then the inevitable killings as the factions begin to split apart. It's by no means a bad film, and it captures well Gotti's perverse appetite for publicity. But, at the end of the day, it's Goodfellas revisited.
