As far as action movies go, you can't go too far wrong with John Woo at the helm.

Cruise (performing most of his own stunts and smiling consistently) and Scott are convincing as goodie versus baddie, and Newton looks as wonderful as a seductress thief should.

Motorcycle chases, gun fights, graceful kick-ass martial arts stunts and abseiling down a cliff-face can make you forget the soppy romance and absorb you in the action and colour of this gem of a movie.
