The Iraqis once again invade Kuwait but don't stop there, and seem to be threatening Saudi Arabia. But America's troops are in the Far East and the President is trapped by a snowstorm in a Colorado roadside diner. With only a phone connecting him to the rest of the world, he threatens to nuke Baghdad if the Iraqis don't withdraw within 90 minutes. This low-budget drama, the debut effort from writer/director Rod Lurie, is simply a variation on the 'will-he-won't-he-drop-the-bomb' plot. All the same, it is quite gripping and tense, so much so that you probably won't notice many of the plot's shortcomings until after the closing credits have rolled. Kevin Pollak stars as President Emerson and is ably supported by Timothy Hutton, Sheryl Lee Ralph and Sean Astin.
