This beautifully made documentary on the unique world of bodybuilders presaged, in its way, the new interest in `muscle-man' films. Once populated by Steve Reeves and Gordon Scott in the late Fifties and early Sixties, they have been given a fresh lease of life in the Eighties by the popularity of Lou Ferrigno as the green half of The Incredible Hulk and of Arnold Schwarzenegger in a host of macho roles. Both men are `on show' here, Schwarzenegger proving particularly personable in his articulate and humorous approach to his `art', in this unexpectedly winning and agreeable film.
