Another fast and funny comedy from the Ealing Studios stable. Released in their peak year, 1949, it's about two Welsh miners who win a trip to London to see the Wales v England rugby match. Alec Guinness uses a rapier-like wit to keep the laughs coming, leaving Donald Houston and Meredith Edwards as the miners to raise the broad guffaws. The final chase through the streets of London rates as one of the most hilarious and best edited since Keystone days.
