It's hard to know what's going on in this thriller about a psychiatrist (Roger Moore) who finds himself involved in murder because of what one of his patients had told him. Actually, she hadn't told him anything - it's what the bad guys thought she had told him. It makes a switch on the 'confession-to-a-priest' type of thriller, as well as a change of pace for Moore after the years as James Bond. It's a pity his character is made to behave so foolishly throughout, undermining his careful performance. Director Bryan Forbes arbitrarily injects red herrings into Sidney Sheldon's plot, as well as making a small acting appearance.
