This witchcraft horror film is said to have started the fashion in chillers for people melting or disintegrating before your very eyes, although perhaps we should put that down to the wicked witch in The Wizard of Oz. William Shatner plays the man out to avenge his father and put paid to the coven of witches run by Ernest Borgnine when he is not busy turning into a goat. But most of the leg work is done by Tom Skerritt (one of the trio of stars, with Elliott Gould and Donald Sutherland, in the original film of M*A*S*H) as Shatner's brother. In the role of Danny, John Travolta makes his screen debut. The effects are fairly stomach-churning, so the squeamish should beware.
