A film based on novelist Rex Stout's detective hero, Nero Wolfe (Maury Chaykin) and his right-hand man Archie (Timothy Hutton), set in Forties New York. Here they investigate the poisoning of a dinner guest. The suspects are all ditsy aspiring actresses employed to wait at table that evening, so there are some amusing moments, but little suspense. Colin Fox co-stars.
