I thought this movie was the best war movie apart from Saving Private Ryan of course. It showed what war really means that thousands lost their lives. This is probably the saddest movie I have seen in a long time.

This film shows the true horror of war and the fact that, behind the cold statistics of the American and Vietnamese dead are the women who wait for their men who will not return. It also misses out the following days when 2nd battalion was nearly massacred - READ THE BOOK - it's worth it.
