This comedy about a director's wife (Shirley MacLaine) who whites up as a geisha girl to win the leading role in his next picture was produced by Miss MacLaine's then-husband, Steve Parker, who lived in Japan for several years.
Sadly, although colourful, it's a one-joke idea stretched to almost two hours.
Even the excellent photography, colourful Edith Head-designed costumes and wonderful Puccini music can't keep the yawns at bay for long.
