A fairly grim story, 'No Place Like Home' stars Jeff Daniels as a husband struggling to train for a better job as an electrician with Christine Lahti as the wife who has to work to support the family. But disaster strikes when their home burns down and they become destitute. The film chronicles their downward spiral. A powerful drama which has at its centre two moving performances by Daniels and Lahti. Not many smiles in this one, but it is compelling, even if you need earplugs when some of its characters start shouting and screaming at each others.
