A family film of lightweight charm, with Shirley MacLaine as an eccentric aunt whose magic first gets her niece's children into trouble, then proves their salvation when she provides the 'miracle' that brings people to their little café in the middle of nowhere. Not much to stir the blood here, but MacLaine deservedly assumes centre stage and there are good, pleasant performances from Teri Garr, Clancy Brown, Vincent Schiavelli, John Bedford Lloyd and especially Hillary Wolf as Garr's daughter. Some amusingly staged special effects make MacLaine's miracle magic seem real enough for the gullible. It'll look good on TV, its natural home.
