Train robberies have provided a basic story ingredient for many a motion picture but where this one differs is that it is set as far back in time as 1855. The film is rich in Victorian period detail, but it's the action that counts, in which respect the robbery sequence is effectively done. A bearded Sean Connery stars as the gentleman crook whose interest in perpetrating the robbery is more particularly a matter of fascination with crime. Donald Sutherland has a splendid character part as his accomplice. Good entertainment for anyone who enjoys a film in 'caper' style.
