Three-story film from the pen of Rod Serling, creator of The Twilight Zone. The middle segment, with Joan Crawford acting everyone off the screen, marked the TV movie debut of wonder boy director Steven Spielberg. Unfortunately, due to Crawford's demands and the fact that Spielberg rejected standard formula camera shots, insisting instead on choreographing complicated movements, production went two days over target. He didn't direct again for two years... Associate producer John Badham later directed several episodes of the same-titles series, and notched up cinema hits with Saturday Night Fever and War Games.
