You get the feeling that a bigger budget could have made this Billy Zane motor racing flick a great film; as it is it's just an OK one. Zane is a driver competing in the 1000mph desert race, up against a new competitor (Scott Wiper) sponsored by the company his old girlfriend (Pamela Gidley) works for. Corporate greed and dangerous driving mean everyone's in for a risky ride. This has its moments, but it doesn't get close enough to the action to thrill.
