King Arthur
Clive Owen and his new set of American gnashers bite off more than they can chew in this reinvention of the legend of King Arthur. He's not helped by a bunch of knights whose Cockney consonants (Arfa!) sound like a coach party of Pearly Kings dragged out of the Queen Vic. However, it's a worth a watch for the stunning battle-on-ice, a terrifically edited setpiece that shows what might have been.
I found that this movie was realistic but not too harsh. I found that they didn't over play the romance thing between Lancealot and Guinevere, but only added a slight attraction. All the characters could be related to and you could feel the emotion. All in all, I think that this movie brought a reality to the legend of King Arthur. Brilliant!

One of the best films I have seen in ages, if not *the* best film I have seen. It's an excellent storyline and Bors (played by Ray Winstone) is outstanding. The story is great, and although it lacks in blood, I think this is a good thing. None of the movie brings the words "as if?" to my mouth, unlike so many other epics. I have watched this film 5 times already, and plan on watching it a lot more!

More Blackadder than Braveheart, this is about as convincing an historical document as Monty Python And The Holy Grail. If you're going to do away with mysticism in favour of grit and realism, you'd better up the action ante. Sadly, the battle scenes take place on ridiculously neat lawns and contain less bloodletting than a quiet night on ER. Clive Owen flounders and Keira Knightley is a million-dollar face with two-bob acting skills; it needed more Bors and less bores. As dull as Troy.
