Monty Python meets Ealing comedy when a stuffy London barrister becomes involved with a double-crossing gang of jewel thieves in this entertaining modern farce.
Writer-star John Cleese plays straight-man (but manages to lose his clothes rather a lot) to the comic antics of Jamie Lee Curtis's coolly calculating vamp Wanda, Michael Palin's stuttering pet-lover and Oscar-winning Kevin Kline's dim-witted, villainous ex-CIA agent ('I love robbing the English, they're so polite.' ).
Veteran Ealing director Charles Crichton (Oscar-nominated) handles the farce with aplomb and keeps the plot rattling along.
