The masked maniac from John Carpenter's stalk-and-slash classic is still on the loose in Illinois and terrorising scream queen Jamie Lee Curtis (the only survivor from the first film) once more. Co-scripted by Carpenter himself, but directed this time by Rick Rosenthal, the film picks up the action on the same night the original film ended with the stalker initially causing mayhem in a hospital. There's more gore than thrills in this one and it's vastly inferior to the first classic Halloween.
