In a strongly cast TV movie, Gina (Showgirls) Gershon is ideal as a tough actress accused of murder, and James Garner twinkles away as a top lawyer who takes on her defence but hands over the case to his junior, played by newcomer Edward Kerr. The stars chew up the scenery in this smoothly-polished courtroom drama that also provides useful parts for Mary-Louise Parker as Garner's secretary and Kathleen Turner as a scandal-mongering TV reporter. The plot is packed with neat little twists in a witty script that makes the story gripping and entertaining all the way.
