A modern Rockford Files caper, still with James Garner as the detective. Here he's called in to help a friend (Hal Linden), a teacher who's under investigation for child molesting. The usual backup team (Stuart Margolin, also directing, and Joe Santos) are in place to help Rockford , though the whole thing's too laid-back to engender much suspense. A dig at the media hype of important criminal cases, this is an unsubtle production and one that, despite Garner's wry and well-worn charm, ramains grounded in TV movie mediocrity.
