The better of two comedy-thrillers that Sammy Davis Jr and Peter Lawford made in the characters of Salt and Pepper, two night-club owners who contrive to get themselves involved in baffling crimes. Beautiful girls abound, and the late Michael Bates is suitably apoplectic as the policeman on the case. The trimmings reflect the mythical swinging London of the late Sixties, although the Soho settings remain relentlessly studio-bound. Director Richard Donner later made his name with a very different film - The Omen.
