Full of delicious absurdities, this is a comedy-thriller in the Charade tradition, with wide-eyed Goldie Hawn who plays a librarian (the thought of Goldie as a librarian is amusing in itself) who finds herself pursued across town for no apparent reason by assassins called Stiltskin and Scarface.
Chevy Chase made his breakthrough to big-time Hollywood stardom in the co-starring role, while Dudley Moore came to the attention of American audiences for the first time as a star comic actor, with his manic portrait of a sex-starved Englishman who can't wait to put his plush 'swinger's apartment' to good use.
Of the other actors, only veteran villain Marc Lawrence, looking more like a deadly snake than ever, plays it light enough to catch the mood intended by director Colin Higgins, who also made Gene Wilder's Silver Streak.
