This thriller concerns a demented murderer who goes around strangling blondes by the handful, and the story development centres on the killer's attempts to escape from Chicago by car, evading the police road blocks. Perhaps the chief interest in the film is that it was directed by Robert Altman, later to make M*A*S*H, McCabe and Mrs Miller, A Wedding, Quintet and Three Women.
