Gibson's Passion Damned
The first UK review of Mel Gibson's highly controversial film The Passion Of Christ has come through and warns of "a sickening bloodbath".After months and months of speculation and chat about the film which shows the last hours in Jesus' life the first UK critic admits:
"Nothing I have ever seen has been more difficult to watch than this."
The Telegraph's John Hiscock went on to describe the film:
It is, without doubt, one of the most violent films ever made - two hours and six minutes of unremitting, relentlessly graphic brutality."
"Beatings, whippings, floggings and, of course, the crucifixion are all shown in meticulous close-up with frequent slow-motion shots to ensure that no detail, however gory, escapes us."
Hiscock says that in his opinion the film is only suitable viewing for sadists.

Gibson has already angered many with the depiction of Christ's last hours.
The uproar from religious bodies, including Jewish groups which feared it may lead to anti-Semitism, has ensured it has continually hit headlines.
The film opens on 26th March in UK, and Gibson has emphasised that it is not suitable for young children.
However, Hiscocks warns that even "adults are likely to have problems with the vivid depictions of pain and violence".
