A harrowing, documentary-style film about teenagers with severe problems - drugs, parental abuse, violent tendencies. They are all housed in a temporary institution under the guidance of Dr Monroe (Don Cheadle) having therapy sessions, sedation where necessary, talking through with bitterness about their lives. The newest 'inmate' is Lyle (Joseph Gordon-Levitt). There is plenty of violence and swearing from these disturbed individuals and the film makes for uneasy watching.
