James Spader is pitch-perfect as the dishevelled psychiatrist whose affair with a patient (Melora Walters) having troubles with her husband (Jay Mohr) causes a legal case that involves his ex lover (Lara Flynn Boyle) and lawyer Bill Murray. Funny scenes fall just the right side of farce, although with a bit more edge this could have been great instead of good.
