From humble beginnings as a researcher at Granada TV and a producer on a couple of episodes of Coronation Street, Michael is now an acclaimed documentary and feature director, famous for helming many successful projects.

His resume boasts such high profile hits as The World Is Not Enough, Gorillas In The Mist; Coal Miner's Daughter (for which Sissy Spacek earned a Best Actress Oscar); Gorky Park; Bram Stoker's Dracula, and Nell.

Most recently he directed Jennifer Lopez in Enough.
