You can tell that Ronald Reagan was in the White House when Hollywood turned out this distasteful, jingoistic, infantile, right wing tract about American youngsters arming themselves and fighting back against Soviet/Cuban invaders. It could have been made in the Fifties at the height of the McCarthy witchhunts, and if mooted today, it's doubtful that its now-famous cast of Patrick Swayze, C Thomas Howell, Charlie Sheen, Jennifer Grey and Lea Thompson would still sign up.
It actually would be all the more offensive, were it not so downright silly!
