In this rather undisciplined comedy, Robin Williams plays a retired fireman who goes to the Caribbean in search of the good life and is persuaded to invest in a run-down holiday club. Although the fun's unevenly spread and the script isn't sharp enough to present Williams at his best, this still entertains, thanks largely to the enthusiasm of its all-star cast. Twiggy is elegant as the love interest and Peter O'Toole delightfully over-the-top as the languid British governor of the island. In an early role, Rick Moranis teams up with Eugene Levy where, as the two Barrys, they play two nerdy holidaymakers hoping to get lucky with the girls (no chance). The biggest surprise is Reggae singer Jimmy Cliff, who enjoys himself enormously as Williams' wily business partner. Not a great film by any means, but fun to be with.
