Justin Henry, the precocious tug-of-love youngster from 'Kramer v Kramer' has had little follow up success to his Oscar-nominated debut. This tepid Canadian shot thriller didn't do him much good and languished on the shelf for a whole year before getting a very limited US release. Richard Harris veers between painfully obvious and being inexplicably deep as a convict on the run who kidnaps Henry as insurance. James Coburn is wasted as the policeman on the case, with little passion behind his obsession to recapture Harris. Lindsay Wagner took time off from righting wrongs as The Bionic Woman to play a psychiatrist along for the ride to advise the police on Harris's state of mind and offer tea and sympathy where needed. Blame a script that fails to connect its various characters and a director who appears unable - or disinterested - to overcome the blandness of the project.
