The pacing of this detective TV movie - it led to a whole series of films about wealthy San Francisco lawyer Christine Cromwell - is almost as deadly as the shotgun blast that sets its whodunit in motion. Former 'Charlie's Angels' star Jaclyn Smith (who has matured into a highly competent actress) cuts a dashing figure in her designer suits and Mercedes convertible. But she's not averse to getting her bumper dented or clothes soiled if it helps her clients. This case involves a school chum blasting her husband dead and fighting to save a multi-million-dollar inheritance. So, a TV detective for yuppies, accessorised to the hilt and set in the world of high rollers and haute couture. Full marks to Joe Nemec for wonderful production design and Marjorie Bowers for exquisite costumes.
