There are half-a-dozen brilliant comic ideas in this Mel Brooks parody of a space epic - for example John Hurt repeating his chest-expanding bit from 'Alien'. The sad thing is that they're lost in a downpour of puerile jokes, feeble puns and idiotic gags - 'Beam me down, Snotty'! is a typical example.

So many great lines in this movie - eg Barf (John Candy) "I'm a Mog, half man - half dog, I'm my own best friend". JC was fab!, Bill Pullman - "I was born somewhere in the Ford Galaxy" - isn't that a car ?! If you like spoofs, this is one to watch, cringing cliche's and great one-liners, even in the opening & closing credits! You will enjoy this with a couple of mates and a few beers.
