Neuwirth is probably best known for her role of psychiatrist Dr Lilith Sternin - later Mrs Frasier Crane - in the American TV series Cheers.
However, she has built up a repectable list of big screen credits include Tadpole, Malice, Summer of Sam and Liberty Heights.
Her big screen debut was 1989's Say Anything, which she followed with supporting roles in Green Card and Jumanji.
She played the college principal in the teen horror movie Faculty and Sigoourney Weaver's friend in the comedy romance Tadpole.
Recent work has included the role of magazine editor in How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days with Kate Hudson and Matthew MaConaughey.
TV credits apart from Cheers, for which she received an Emmy as best supporting actress, include Star Trek: The Next Generation.
Upcoming projects include James Ivory's Le Curator with Glenn Close and the crime thriller The Big Bounce with Owen Wilson.
