This is a long, long road and there's no running away from its tedium. Badly dated, looking like a Fifties juvenile problem film, it features Donald Sutherland as an insufferably pious psychiatrist trying to cope with troubled teenagers dumped by uncaring parents into psychiatric hospitals. When the main one (played by Adam Horovitz, lead singer with white rap band The Beastie Boys) says 'I think you should be in this place instead of me', you have to go along with him. Poor soundtrack, grotty colour, OTT acting: take another road.
