One more time for the familiar story about the prizes and pitfalls of being glamorous enough to have staples driven through your navel in the cause of glossy-magazine circulation. A young Kim Basinger is the girl discovering the tears behind the Hollywood tinsel, yet again. Co-stars Fabian, Dorothy Malone, Tab Hunter and Vivian Blaine give this one nostalgia value from several decades, while Don Johnson, Don Stroud and Melanie Mayron are also in a cast that's well above strength compared to the average TV movie. Just as well, considering the script and storyline are strictly from well-thumbed pages.
