Lorraine Bracco

A teen model, who moved to Paris as a young girl to study acting, Lorraine has been a name for herself in numerous Hollywood productions, but most prominently in her portrayal of Dr. Catherine Melfi in the award winning and long running TV series The Sopranos.
Lorraine made her film debut in 1979 in Duos sur Canape in France, and in the mid 80's she returned to the US.
A film called Camorra/A Complex Film About Women, Alleys and Crimes pitted her against Harvey Keitel on the big screen, but it was The Pick Up artist in 1989 which brought her recognition.
It was her role as Karen Hill in GoodFellas that proved to be Lorraine's breakthrough, and she received an Oscar nomination as Best Supporting Actress for the part.
In 1992 she starred opposite Sean Connery in Medicine Man, and three years later she was cast as Leonardo DiCaprio's mother in his breakthrough film, The Basketball Diaries.
In 1999 the Sopranos called, and made Lorraine a household name.
Most recently Lorraine played Drew Barrymore's mum in the comedy Riding in Cars with Boys.
