Hot and spicy but not too well cooked or served, this soupy study of a French provincial family running a restaurant is bubbling over with tears, as is the manageress trying to cope with husband, lover, family and customers, but little of it seems informed by much genuine insight into the human tragic-comedy that appears to be the aim. Character credibility is close to zero, especially at the cop-out ending. Order this dish at your own risk.
