After a successful run in the 70s with the popular Saturday matinee 'Time Forgot' movies, British director Kevin Connor moved to Hollywood for this epic fantasy, here cut down from its original two-part mini-series format. Mark Harmon - yet to make his mark in 'St Elsewhere' and receive the accolade of 'the sexiest man alive' - is the oceanographer who stumbles on survivors still living in an ocean liner on the sea bed, 40 years after being holed by German U-boats. Christopher Lee is well cast to type as the dictator who rules over the community. Credibility is stretched to breaking point, but fantasy film fans will enjoy it.
