A passable Disney follow-up to The Rescuers, nicely animated in most of its scenes, with the Disney draughtsmen getting a chance to draw Australian flora and fauna when 'rescue mice' Bianca and Bernard are called across continents to save a young Australian boy at the mercy of an evil trapper who wants to capture the boy's friend, an eagle. There are not so many good characters here as in the first film - Joanna, the slimy salamander is the pick of the bunch - but the story moves swiftly enough, and there's a typically Disneyesque exciting climax, with the boy about to be dropped into the mouths of snapping crocodiles while Bianca and Bernard battle to save him. Good for small fry, but it hasn't the cross-family appeal that Disney cartoons over the next few years would target with such success.
