Hart Bochner
Born: 3 October 1956
Where: Toronto, Canada
Hart made his film debut in Islands in the Stream, adapted from the unfinished Hemingway novel.
He went on to appear in the Oscar-nominated Breaking Away, the thriller Terror Train, and Rich and Famous.
Hart is well remembered for his role as Supergirl's love interest, but real success and more varied roles followed on the small screen, with him making his TV-movie debut in Haywire.
Back on the big screen, Hart acted in Making Mr. Right, then delivered a brief, yet memorable turn as the businessman who flirts with the wife of Bruce Willis' character in Die Hard.
Teaming with Argentinean writer-director Martin Donovan, he tackled his first leading role in a feature in Apartment Zero. This was followed with Mr. Destiny, which teamed him with Jon Lovitz, after which he made his second film with Donovan, the little seen Mad at the Moon.
Although he continued to appear on TV, Hart began to move toward a career behind the camera. In 1992, he wrote, produced and directed the short The Buzz, starring Lovitz, and two years later he tackled his first feature, PCU, a look at "political correctness" on college campuses.
In 1996 he directed High School High, after which he stepped in front of the camera as Bridget Fonda's abusive husband in Break Up, and Susan Sarandon's younger lover in Anywhere But Here.
He followed with a turn as Professor Solomon in John Ottman's directing debut, Urban Legends: The Final Cut, before appearing in Liberty Stands Still.
