The colours are a bit brighter, the pace more kinetic and the music louder than on the long-running animated TV series. But this cinema film following the updated adventures of the engagingly chuckleheaded Jetson family - first launched on the world in the space-age-crazy era of the early Sixties - is a bland affair compared with such Disney blockbusters as Aladdin and The Lion King. The plot looks and feels like an extended episode of the Hanna-Barbera Saturday morning series and will bore all but the most undemanding small child. Pop star Tiffany (where did her career go? ) is a cast addition, voicing teenyboper Judy Jetson and crooning several forgettable bublegum pop numbers. The film is dedicated to George O'Hanlon (voice of George Jetson) and Mel Blanc (Mr Spacely), who died soon after completing their roles.
