Robert De Niro and company just about squeeze a feature-length film out of this slim dreams-come-true story. De Niro's a loner police photographer noticeably lacking in bravado. But when he saves the life of a big-shot gangster (Bill Murray), he's rewarded with a live-in girl (Uma Thurman) for a week. Paying the crook back her brother's debts, she has to do as she's told. So she's a nice girl, natch, but even so it's only a couple of days before they're in the sack, and De Niro finds there's a heavy price to pay if he wants to keep his new love. Murray is intriguing casting as the gang boss who's also a stand-up comic, but it's the only spark of interest in a story where the leads just don't coalesce and developments are strictly make-believe.
