This little-known children's fantasy adventure features one of the last roles to date of Russ Tamblyn, vigorous boy star who became a dancer in MGM musicals of the 1950s. In this cheap-looking but tolerably entertaining adventure for primary school-age children, he ironically plays second fiddle to Toran Caudell, another boy star, as as the title character, in the story of a young boy who, dreaming of being a magician, accidentally unleashes the power of a magic ring and transports his brother 1200 years back in time to the time of Merlin and King Arthur. As you can tell, it's more or less a revamp of A Yankee at King Arthur's Court, a profitable fantasy feeding-ground for film-makers for many years.
